Saturday @ the Carter's house.

Saturday I went over to the Carter's house, which is totally my favorite people in the world.

David and Denise are the coolest people on the planet, and they are so good to me and my Denise. And I know that by now everyone has probably noticed that Aaron is my favorite kid in the world. Haha. but yeah he had his very first birthday this week. I can't hardly believe how amazingly super fast he has grown. I remember being so excited last year the week we was waiting on him to come. When I got to the hospital David handed me this little boy wrapped nice and tight in a little blankey. It was sooo awesome. Check it!

But yeah its so much fun, we have the greatest times together.

Anyway yesterday I chased this little booger around the yard trying to get him to be still for just a sec. Its practically impossible. But I did get a few good ones.

Breaking Point,

Haha, no, this is not a sad sob story about breaking down or anything. Although life has been insane to the maxx the past few days.

Denise had to have an emergency surgery, but she's doing great. Just keep her in your prayers. She had been hurting in her side since last saturday, and went to the dr. and found out she has a gallstone. Great! But its all over now.

Hopefully life will be normal for a week or so. I finished up school this week, and in our classes, we have to keep a portfolio, which i honestly feel like is a pile of poop, but it counts for %10 of our whole grade. And so I had to do one for both classes. So being they're computer classes, you'd think i would make something with computers on it, and keyboards and stuff like that......

Well not really. I sat down, and started trying to make something and I couldn't get anything to work, so i just went creative. After a few minutes I came out with this.......

Nothing to do with computers. Even a little violent i thought, haha. But my gut told me to go with it so i did.

Well, when i got to class and turned in my book to Mr. Thomason, he freaked out! He started calling my name, " Shain! Shain! OMG man!! how did you know!!!?" haha, it kinda startled me at first, and when i asked him what he was talking about, he said," That's a 66 Malibu!! I had one of those and it looked just like this one. It was my favorite car ever!"..... i was stunned. He careened off of subject and started talking about speeding tickets and burning rubber and highschool and all, it was sooo coool!!!! My friend Steve was like, " Your crazy man, I can't believe you did that." I was like," haha, believe it Steve."

So needless to say, he never really made it pass the cover of my book, I dont even think he graded it! Im not bragging about it or anything, maybe it was just luck, because he gave me a 100% on it, and so did the teacher in my other class!

Man I was STOKED!!!! i've never made a 100% on my notebooks.
but lesson learned. now i know what to do. haha.

WELL.............

hopefully I'll have some new stuff coming soon now that i have a day off. I should still have those few post that i've been meaning to edit and get on here. And im going to work on the blog and see what i can make out of it. It needs some major work on it. But we'll get it.

But for now im going to bed.
Peace and goodnight.

My Dad.

With Fathers day coming up, there is a really neat thing on the radio on Air1 and they're giving away a few free things(which we love) and also a chance for the grand prize which is the chance to get behind the wheel of a NASCAR!

So alls you do is write an email to air1 explaining why you have the best dad ever.

So this is what I said.

Hi, my name is Shain,

And I pretty much have the best dad ever on the planet....

His name is Kenneth Petty, and he's been my dad for, oh I'd say about 22 years now. But anyway, let me tell you a little bit about him.

Back when I first started school, in kindergarten, one day my dad was taking me and my older bro. to get us a winter jacket, and on the way there, a car ran a stop sign and completely totaled our vehicle. My brother was thrown out and so was my dad, but before he was thrown out, he managed to shove me into the floorboard of the truck, and the truck flipped 4 times with me in it.
Amazingly I escaped with only a scratched nose. My dad on the other hand didn't get so lucky. When I found him laying there, his leg was broken and the bone was poking out of his leg. It was pretty scary when I was just 5 years old.

So from there he was unable to work for 7 or 8 years, until the Dr.'s gave him permission to work again.

So, he went back to the place he worked before the accident, and applied for a job there, and because of his leg and everything, they wouldn't hire him back. They wouldn't tell him that, but he pretty much knew.

So he hunted for jobs for awhile. And it must have been so hard trying to provide for us, but he did it.

Finally he got a job with a company called ABC Kersey Septic Tank Services. It was not a very high paying job to start with, only $7 or so an hour, but with his leg being a health hazard that was all he could find. So my dad had a job cleaning Portable toilets, and picking them up and delivering them all over the city.

Funny thing is, you would think it would be an embarrassing job, and he would be ashamed, but he never was. He worked that job for 7 years. When he quit his boss looked up to him and loved him very much. He actually asked him if he sold the company if he would like to buy it from him.

But every time someone would ask my dad what he did for a job, he would say funny things like," Im a Portable Lab Technician...", or if you asked him," How do you stand the smell?!", and he would just reply with," Smells like money to me....".

Thats only a small part of why my dad is the greatest dad ever.

Every morning when I get up to head out for work or college, he's in the living room floor praying. Early in the morning, and he prays for me so much. I know that I would not be save today if it wasn't for my father praying for me.

But even in my journeys. He's there for me. I go to college right now, and I am also trying to start my own photography business.

but he's always helping me and guiding me and telling me where I can still improve.

So, anyways. I would love to tell you how rich my dad is, and how he drives a lexus or jaguar to work every day. But I can't. But I can tell you that he's never missed a day of work. He's one of the hardest workers on the planet, and when he's called on to testify in church, he brings a smile to everyones face.

So thanks for the chance to give back to my dad. He would totally love this.

Shain.

Poppa on the GO!

Well, It's been a really busy past couple of weeks.

I've been trying to finish up my last weeks of school, before I take off for the summer. I've also been working two jobs.... : (
And my Poppa has been in the hospital with his leg cut off. JOY.

So I've been spending alot of time with him at the hospital latley, so yeah, thats why my blog has been lacking in post.

But, back to Poppa. We had a few scares, and actually thought he was going to die, but he's gotten so much better lately. Every night I go up there, I push him out in the wheel chair and we follow nurses around and pick at them and aggravate them constantly. Which is not something they're use to, being that pretty much all the other patients are layed up in bed and one thinks he's in Wisconsin....... it kinda hurt my heart. Because we had that same problem with Poppa and the medicine he was on. It made him quite loopy.

Anyways, This past week was great besides the fact that i've been living off fumes for the past two weeks...... but that's life.

Yesterday I got out of school, and went in and was hanging out while Poppa did his physical therapy. He's been doing some crazy stuff. They make him walk with a walker, and transport himself from chair to chair. He's been made to get in and out of a car, and yesterday we put him on the floor to see how he would react to falling on the ground and how he would get back up. It took him quite awhile...but finally we had to get him up. He laughed alot.

So anyway, here are a few shots I snagged while he was doing P.T.

This is a his smiley faced stumpy friend. Since he gives the girls in
dialisys such a hard time, they drew this on his bandage.....It only has one leggy!
haha, we laughed alot.
